BORN IN ASHES
ABOUT THE PROJECT | A student project about a girl coming-of-age by following in her grandmother’s footsteps. It was inspired by Bulgarian folklore and traditions that involve spiritual dances over hot coals in fire pits. To capture the rough and rustic feeling we decided to look into the aesthetics of wood carving and went for a character look inspired by traditional Bulgarian wooden dolls.
